Social Housing . RSLs and Local Authorities -- PAS 2035 Retrofit Co ordinators

Social Housing is generally better insulated and maintained than private sector rented housing.  This doesn't mean that there is less to do however, because government expects social housing to lead the way , and there is a big role for Local Government and RSLs in delivering improvements.

Private Sector Landlords

Private sector landlords have never really had the incentives to improve the energy efficiency of their properties -  but things may be changing.  There are obligations under the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES).

For private landlords then , the same process as above applies:

• Understand the buildings you own.

• Make energy improvements when  the best opportunities arise.

• Make a plan .
