SAP calculations for AD Part L1

Nbea are accredited by Elmhurst to do SAP calculations under the Building Regulations  Part L1 .

New Build: 
Under Part L1  of the Building Regulations,  SAP Calculations are required for all newly built dwellings  to demonstrate compliance at plan stage and an EPC on completion.

Extensions and conversions.
Under Part L1 of the Building Regulations SAP calculations are often required for extensions and conversions.

These are getting  more interesting and more complicated because:

• Designers and owners are wanting  larger glazed areas - raising the need for increased insulation in other areas thereby  effectively introducing 'consequential improvements'.
• There is a greater appreciation and understanding of the real risks of retrofitting insulation. Where a technical risk can be demonstrated  the L1b requirement for insulation can be moderated - with the right arguments.
• The demands of the insulation requirements can impact on internal space, and value.
