Straw , Clay, Earth - Low impact and natural materials
We are enthusiasts for the appropriate use of low impact and natural materials, and know a bit about lime, straw, clay, and the carbon footprint of building materials . When we don't know, we know who to ask .

In 2008 / 2009 we built a straw bale house rendered with lime externally and clay internally.
It works well for it's liveablility , thermal efficiency , breathability and minimal impact .
It was included in the CPRE Green build open days in 2009 and 2010 and features in the Green Buildings in Norfolk booklet published by the CPRE .
This has driven interest in low impact materials and a realistic view of their potential.
The virtues and limitations of straw , lime and clay may be explored in more depth on this site later, but if you want to find out more - or want formal or informal support for your project - please get in touch .

In 2012 we worked with Ed Reardon to design and build a circular brick and straw bale studio for an eminent local drummer .
